First day of blog... Day 11 in hospital

Robby has been in the hospital for 12 days now and finally tonight has shown some signs of improvement like some big tears rolling down his face when his mother and sister spoke to him this evening. He is still in very critical condition and still has a long way to go but this evening was a big step for the family. The family wants to thank the many people who have been praying for Robby through this whole ordeal it means the world to them and to Robby. Robby at this time the doctor will only let the family back to see Robby. The family also wants to thank all of his close friends for coming and wishing the family well and especially the ones who have brought food to the hospital it means a great deal to them. Feel free to post your thoughts on the blog when Robby is well enough he will read each and everyone. We will try to post the daily reports each evening on his status. Thanks again to all of you again.

Day 12

This morning Robby was alert and the doctors were trying to see if he could breath on his own by stopping the ventilator. They tried this once before a few days earlier and he went for about thirty seconds and they had to start it back up again. This morning when they stopped it he lasted thirty minutes but they decided it was best to start it back up again. This was a step in the right direction and we were very hopeful.

This afternoon the family got a bit of bad news that Robby was going to have to have a tracheotomy in the morning at eight o'clock. Robby was showing signs that the ventilator tube was causing him problems and that this was best for him. Once again the family is reminded that this is a very serious condition that he is in and it is still going to be a long road to recovery.

Please continue to pray for Robby and his family every day God is watching over them but it is in his time that he will heal Robby. The pankreatitis that Robby has is a very serious condition and it is going to take all of his family and friends to stand beside and behind him through this whole process.

Thank you very much for all the support he is receiving and all the prayers that are going out for him.

Day 13 Trakekieautomy surgery

Just a quick update on Robby his surgery with the trake tube was a success and he is resting. He is still in CCU and is still hooked up to the respirator. The doctors are going to try on a daily basis to wean him off the respirator. Thanks for all the prayers they are being answered every minute. We all want Robby to come through this quickly but the truth is it is going to be a long recovery period. Please take this information you receive here and spread it and not something you have heard from another place this information is coming straight from Robby's team of doctors. Thanks again for all that you are doing for Robby and his family it means a great deal to them and keep the prayers coming...

Day 14

Well Robby has been in the hospital now for two weeks. The good thing is today he is in better shape today than when he came in two weeks ago. Robby had a good day yesterday after his surgery and got to see his family and actually knew it was them. He cannot talk for obvious reasons with the trake tube but responded. He actually got real restless late in the day wanting to get up and damaged the trake tube and the doctor had to come back and repair it. The doctor and the team of nurses decided that only his mother ( Becky) and his wife (Mandy) were the only people back in the CCU room to see him. The doctors want him to stay calm and heal from the surgery for a few days. His blood sugar was better as well as his heart rate yesterday which is a good sign that he is improving slowly. He still has a long way to go but we are thankful for any improvement we can get. We just ask that you take just a minute each day and say a little prayer for Robby and his family for Gods healing and that people would be touched by this whole situation...
Thanks again for all your support.
The family has set up an expense fund for Robby and donations can be made at any Cherokee Bank. The account is under Becky Busby dba/ Robby Anderson expense fund any amount would be grateful. The bills at home are adding up and with Robby not working things are getting tough. Thanks in advance on behalf of the family for any donation.

Day 15

This is Sundays post sorry for the delay in getting this out to you. Robby is still in CCU and can only be seen by Mandy and his mother. They can only see him for a short period of time and have to keep from talking to him not to agitate him. Robby is sedated and they have increased the life support up to 70%. All of this is because Robby gets to restless when they are weening him off the sedatives and try and get him to breath on his own. The other reason is Robby's team of doctors want him to rest and the trake tube to heal. Over all he is about the same without any real changes.
The family asks that you check here for updates because there is a a lot of misinformation floating around about Robby that is far from the truth. We don't want people to spread rumors that are not the truth because it upsets the family. Thanks for your understanding and as always keep praying for Robby's healing and for the family.

Day 16

Robby is still in CCU as of today and still is not able to see anyone else beside his mother and wife. Robby is still about the same his blood pressure and sugar levels are up and down but his fever has stayed down which is a good thing. We just need to ask God for the healing of Robby's pancreas. This is the major hold up on his healing without it he will not get any better. If you look up what all it does it will explain more in depth what all is does for our bodies. We need to ask Gods healing more than ever before. Please keep his family in your prayers as well and to help comfort them in this long and stressful recovery. Don't forget the expense fund for Robby and his family that has been setup. It is at Cherokee Bank under: Becky Busby dba Robby Anderson Expense Fund please any amount would be gratefully appreciated.

Day 17

I finally have some good news to report... This evening the doctors weaned Robby off all his sedatives and took the ventilator off and just had him on 5% oxygen... The best part was he was responsive and awake tonight and was joking and flirting with the nurses. This just shows how great our God is in answering prayers. This does not by any means that he is out of the woods yet he still has a long way to go but it is a small step in the right direction. We still need to pray for the healing of his pancreas it still hasn't showed much if any signs of healing. When you read this please stop and thank God for this small blessing he has given us and continue to pray for Robby and his family...
This good news does not mean to run to the hospital to see him because you wont be able to see him. The doctors still will ONLY let Mandy and Becky go back to see him. The best thing all of us can do is continue to pray and thank God for what he is doing every day. We need to pray that this will not happen to anyone of us.

Day 18 & 19

Sorry to just now get this out to everyone.... I just got back from sitting in the CCU room with Robby and he looks and acts just like the ole Robby everyone loves and admires. He is flexing his muscles and flirting with ALL the nurses. He wants out of that hospital so bad but also knows it will be a while before that will happen. He can write on a dry erase board to talk back and forth.
All his vitals are looking good its his stubborn Pancreas that is not healing as quickly as his doctors want. The speech doctor came in today to check him out and to make sure the trake tube was okay and she made him eat some apple sauce which was a good thing. They are trying to feed him slowly to get his stomach working properly. I just cant emphasise enough how God has blessed Robby with a second chance in life. He has answered prayers and we all need to thank him for that. We still have a long way to go but if we keep asking for his help he promises he will listen. There are lives being changed right now over this whole situation with Robby and the position he is in. Wendy tonight said Robby will have a new job when he gets out to talk to people about what drinking can and will do to your body and he is walking proof of that.
I cant thank you enough on behalf of myself and his family thank you for all the prayers and support you have given.
Robby is still not allowed any visitors at this time.

Day 20

Today was another good day for Robby. I just got back from seeing him and he actually got up out of bed and sat in a chair next to the bed and ate his dinner. It was great to see the huge improvement from a week ago when he pulled out his trake tube. He is going to be moved to a long term facility on Monday for his rehab work and there he will be getting more treatments for the pancreatitus. As it stands right now the pancreas is still inflamed and it needs to heal. Robby is very adamant on getting better and wants out of that hospital ASAP. We really need to continue to pray for the healing of the pancreas but also pray for patience for Robby. We need to pray for his new team of doctors at the new facility. As well as that they will do everything they can to get him on the road to recovery. We have seen some great things happen to him in the last week but he still has several huge obstacles to over come. I believe it in my heart he will make it as strong willed as he is but he still needs our help and most of all our prayers. As always thank you for all of you support for Robby and the family.

Day 21

Wow!!! Robby is doing so well today I got to spend sometime with him and he defiantly has his wits about him. He is eating good and still all his vitals look real good. The CCU manager told me that Robby was the worst patient that the hospital had ever seen with his condition and was in the worst shape when he came into CCU now he is the best. We should know more about his pancreas in the next few days on any improvements or not after they do another CT scan. If you go on the web and type in pancreatitus and read up you will see that Robby on the outside may look and feel great but without it working properly he still has a long way to go. This is last nights post ( Saturday night) and I am going to see him now so I will have another post in a few hours.
Thanks again for the abundance of support and keep on praying for the healing of his pancreas.
My daily bible quotes are all the way at the bottom of the blog under the pictures. Read them we all need them....

Day 22

Robby is still doing very well. Yesterday (Sunday) his rehab nurse came in and asked him if he felt like standing at the side of the bed. Robby replied, lets do some laps... She couldn't understand what he was talking about and Robby in his witty way proceeded out the door to his room and walked a lap around the nurses station. The rehab nurse couldn't believe it and he stopped and rested for a minute and he asked her if she was ready for lap number two...
He looks great and he is using a valve that he puts in the trake tube to talk. He is able to talk just for a few minutes and then has to take it out because it makes him feel like he is suffocating sometimes he says. We are still waiting on an updated CT scan to see if the pancreas is improving at all. Robby will be starting a lot of rehabilitation this week and we need to pray for him in that he has the patience with the nurses as well with him self. This will be another hard fight for him not only to regain his strength but to be able to fight the addiction of the alcohol. Everything looks and seems to be getting normal for Robby but this will be very hard for him and his family we just need to praise God for what he has don in his life this far but continue to ask for his total healing for Robby. We cant just tune into God in just the hard time but we need to tune into him always through the good and the bad. Sorry to get on my preaching soap box but we all need to know that God loves us all and he wants that relationship.

Day 24

Robby is still doing well mostly resting and doing some rehab work. There is no real changes with him at the moment. He had a CT scan today at 1:00 and we hopefully should know something tomorrow on what is going on with his pancreaus. I will keep you posted on the results. Please continue to pray for Robby and his family because it is starting to take a toll on them with all the hours they are spending away from their own family and friends not to mention their jobs.
Thanks again for all your support.....

Day 30

I am so sorry to just now post the new progress but I have been out of town....
The good news is Robby is at home and doing really well. He worked out a deal with the doctors to let him go home and recover there rather than stay in the boring hospital. He has to carry around a thirty pound IV drip bag with nutrients in it and at the moment he is rolling it around in a baby stroller. He is limited to what he can eat and really has to take it easy. He will go back in soon to be checked out to see if the pancreas is improving. This is his main problem right now when the pancreas heals he will be doing soooo much better. We can just be thankful that he is home and he is improving no matter how slow it may seem. I just want to thank God for all his family and friends for praying for him through all this he really sees now how much you all mean to him.

Day 38 Back in CCU...

Well I have some not so good news this am... Robby was admitted last night back in CCU for more of the symptoms as before. The pancreas is inflamed and still is giving him fits. It looks as this is going to be a longer road than we had all wanted and prayed for. We still need to keep Robby and his whole family in our prayers and ask God to really give Robby the patience to get through this. It has really been hard on him to sit at home and not to be able to do much he is stir crazy. We also need to pray for the pancreas to heal so that he can start to eat solid foods. Robby has and still is only being fed a liquid diet and that is really hard for that 'Big' man. We all want the best for Robby and with that said just like before his family is requesting NO visitation at the hospital. Just keep them in your prayers and I will keep you updated.
Thanks and we are praying for you as well...

Day 52

Well Robby has been moved to Emory to get better care and to have a team of specialist treat him. He was not improving enough so he has moved. He just got there last night and right away the doctors started looking at him. I will keep you updated as I get the news lately it has been about the same news 'hurry up and wait' he sat and sat and he wasn't getting any better. We still need to pray for that dang pancreaus to get better it is being stuborn I guess because it is attached to a stuborn guy.... Just keep Rob in your prayers as well as the entire team of doctors working with him and his family.

Day 54

Well Robby is settled in at Emory Hospital now and has a new team of doctors and a new outlook on what is going to happen next. The first option is to connect his intestin to his stomach and cut a hole in the stomach and by pass the pancreas. This will allow him to eat what ever he wants and right now sounds like the best option for him. They are going to all talk about it over the next few days and make a decision and decide when to do the surgery. His sharp pains he has been having as of last night have subsided and that is a good thing due to that was his biggest complaint over the last few weeks.
He looks great and for the most part feels good. He can finally take a shower on his own and not a bath and he says he feels like a new man. You know how he is with his appearance got to look good for everyone especially the nurses... Robby has been doing allot of praying lately he tells me and he feels and sees it really helping as well as feels all the prayers from all of you. He is grateful for that and cant wait to get back home and spend time with his family and friends. Continue to pray for Robby and his family and we will continue to pray for all of you.
